Age of Conan Merges Servers

Chop, chop, chopMassively is reporting that Funcom is promising a bunch of changes in the next update of Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, but one of the ominous bit of news is thus:

‘we are actively working on an approach to merge servers, both in Europe and North America.’

Uh oh. A server merge is something that an MMO does when the population is too low to nessecitate that many.

The better news is that Ymir’s Pass is heading to test server phase and promises a huge region with tons of content. They’re also revamping the PvP system in which you could find yourself an outcast from many regions for certian actions, such as killing low level players, but you’ll be welcomed in little camps of baddies. Of course, being associated with these people brings problems. There’s also a bunch of playbalancing stuff.

One must wonder if Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures will eventually become a niche MMO like EVE Online.
