Silent Hill: Homecoming Banned in Australia

As you may have already heard, Silent Hill: Homecoming, coming out today on multiple platforms, has been banned in Australia, due to “excessive violence”. Odd how the brain-splattering violence in Fallout 3 is fine in Australia, just the real-life drugs was the issue - but the violence in Silent Hill is more bothersome?

It seems to me that they just wanted to ban it for whatever reason to prove they’re moral and upstanding, just like Boston was a few decades ago. “Banned in Boston” no longer has any weight at all, and all the OFLC is doing is depriving the Australian people who still haven’t gotten Rock Band - and Lord knows when they’ll be able to enjoy Rock Band 2.

And poor Ben Yahtzee is a Silent Hill fan.
