Nintendo has announced their next-gen Nintendo DS called the “Nintendo DSi”, which has its official site up now. The DSi is feature-packed, including:
- two built-in cameras (one VGA resolution)
- music playback
- SD card slot
- internal storage
- 3.25″ screens and thinner chassis
- photo sync with Wii Photo Channel
- internet browser
Whew. The DSi will also use Wi-Fi to connect with the online DSi shop, and will cost in Japan a mere $178. It will be released in Japan on November 1, 2008.
Very simply, this handheld sounds red-hot.
UPDATE: GamePro posted a comparison between the DS Lite and the DSi.
UPDATE 2: Joystiq has added that the DSi will not arrive in North America til “well into 2009″.
(Thanks, Joystiq.)
