Imagine having your game stolen before you’ve even announced it has gone gold. Talk about taking the wind out of your sails! Fallout 3 may be just be that game who has to announce it was stolen before it was pressed and shipped. How does that happen?
Speculation says it was leaked in the manufacturing plant given its ability to hit the torrents before the press release hit the internets. Of course, the PC is the most plausible way of stealing games because it’s the easiest to break into… but this was the Xbox 360 release of Fallout 3.
Of course, many developers (like Epic and their Gears of War 2) have talked about how their shipping on the console over the PC because the console is a great DRM device and anyone that can install a video card can, technically, torrent a stolen copy of a game.
Turns out, anyone that can install a TV can also torrent a game. Thus far, it’s been reported that “thousands” of downloads have already taken place. Our opinion? Buy the damn game you stupid thieves!
