CliffyB: Gears of War 2 Our Best Game Ever

Epic Games design director Cliff Bleszinski is gushing about Gears of War 2, calling it Epic’s best effort ever.
“After two years of pouring our heart and passion into Gears of War 2, the team is immensely happy with what we’ve created. This is Epic’s best work yet, and we can’t wait to see the response from fans and newcomers to the series alike.”
While CliffyB is no stranger to bold statements and hyperbole, recent videos have been pretty impressive. While we doubt GoW2 will be awesome, their best work ever? I still reserve that honor to the first Unreal Tournament when it was released in 1999. Now that was a triumph of AI and pure gaming goodness. I do think it’ll dwarf the first Gears of War, though, though not so much that I’ll get the collector’s editor with its life-size lancer.
