TGS ‘08: Final Fantasy XIII Versus: Still a Mystery

Square-Enix is showing both Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XIII Versus at the TGS. Problem is, the Versus footage is the same they’ve been showing us for the last two years! There isn’t anything new here except about 30 seconds of actual real-time, in game footage that doesn’t answer any of the questions we’ve had about this game from the beginning.
The new footage is just a boring talk scene between two characters in an art gallery; it goes without saying that this new footage is gorgeous, it wouldn’t be a Final Fantasy if it weren’t. Disregarding the technical beauty of the thing, I’m getting tired of Square-Enix trotting out the same-old, same-old every trade show! I want to start seeing substantial information on these games. I’m sick of the agonizingly slow build up of hype; FF fans are already rabid fanboys. It isn’t necessary to keep stringing them further and further along!
(Thanks, 1Up.)
