Warcraft IV Confirmed; Starcraft II Split Into a Trilogy

Blizzard has formally announced at Blizzcon that Warcraft IV is coming, and will use the same technology of Starcraft II, which itself will be made into a trilogy.

The latest panel from BlizzCon has been about Starcraft 2. The big news is that the campaign will be split into three separate parts, each being sold as a standalone game. (people were booing this decision)

This is to ensure a faster release and a more polished campaign. Each of these will feature the same multiplayer experience, however you will have to purchase a separate product to play each of the campaigns.

The three standalone games will be:

  • Terrans - Wings of Liberty
  • Zerg - Heart of the Swarm
  • Protoss - Legacy of the Void

If each game is sold for $19.99, it really isn’t that much of an issue, is it? Let us know.
