Activision has announced Big League Sports for the Wii. Now, since it’s a sports game on the Wii, you can basically tick off the following features:
- a lot of minigames
- a lot of Wiimote waggling
Activision in its press release promises:
“a singular focus on putting players in the most thrilling situations while competing in their favorite sports.” It’ll include tennis, basketball, football, soccer, lacrosse, and hockey, and each game will have its own “hit the shot and the buzzer” kind of moments
So, basically, it focuses on only the last-second buzzer stuff. In other words – minigames in which the clock is ticking down and you have to hit as many buckets as possible, or goals, or hits, and so forth.
Instead of a lot of minigames, how about one sports game, that focuses on that sport? You know, like MLB Power Pros?
It’s due during the holidays, probably for a budget price under $40, so that it’ll be stocking-stuffers bought by people who really don’t care about video games. You know, the Wii’s core audience.
(Was that harsh? Tough.)
