Persona 4 Goes South Park

The Shin Megami Tensei (known as Persona in North America) series isn’t for everyone – I’ve never found the games compelling – but it’s popularity has grown steadily over the last few iterations. Persona 3 was a big seller. The latest in the series, Persona 4, has a character in it that seems to be modeled after Mr. Garrison in Comedy Central’s South Park. All the Shin Megami Tensei games take place in and around schools and you’re character will have to attend classes, etc. One of your teachers in P4, Mr. Hosoi, teaches literature and poetry with the assistance of a hand puppet!
At this time, no one is sure if the tribute was intentional or not, but the translators for the American version have taken the similarity and ran with it, adding “mmkays” to the end of Mr. Hosoi’s sentences.
