N•Revolution, a Nintendo-only focused UK magazine, is shuttering its doors. Unlike other print magazines, however, the magazine states it’s not ceasing publication due to competition with online gaming sites. It’s closing because Nintendo’s shifted away from the magazine’s core audience:
“The decision to suspend N•Revolution has been taken because it has become increasingly obvious that Nintendo’s strategy for Wii and DS is no longer in line with Imagine Publishing’s target readership, and has moved increasingly away from the hardcore gaming community that is our specialty,” managing director Damian Butt explained.
Ouch. Considering the average grandma – much less 4 year old – reads gaming magazines, this could have some kernel of truth to it.
What do you think?
