CES ‘09: Sony = Crazy Ex-Girlfriend? [UPDATE]

TechRadar is reporting that Wired is mocking Sony’s recent “desperate” attempts to prop the PlayStation 3 up against the successful Xbox 360 and Wii.
“Sony sent out a press release that attempted to set the tone of the console debate,” wrote Wired’s gaming correspondent Chris Kohler this week, adding, hilariously: “Apparently this year’s tone will be ‘crazy ex-girlfriend’… So out comes the spin. First, a Sony exec tells CNET that PlayStation 3 sales were up 130% following Black Friday, which is somehow supposed to be a sign of health even though sales of every product on Earth jump after Black Friday.”
Our favorite part?
- Ten year’s of value with a future-proof system via firmware updates that offer new services and features
Like Home and huge firmware updates every few days? If Sony thinks Microsoft and Nintendo will be sticking with the Xbox 360 and Wii beyond 2011 and not offering new hardware that will outclass an aging PS3 system, they’re crazy. They’re crazier to stick with the PS3 beyond 2011 and try to force a ten year cycle with computer hardware. Even the most inexperienced of consumer knows that computer obsolescence is almost yearly.
[UPDATE: Microsoft responded to Sony's accusations of 'peddling add-ons', stating he wouldn't want to trade places with Sony, adding "I would rather talk about why you should buy our console than why you shouldn't buy the competitor's system."]

Sounds to me like a certain little news site should stop running to Microsofts and Nintendo’s rescue. No one says anything about Aaron Greenberg’s attacks on ps3 but when sony does it these panzies disguised as journalist wanna hop on the bash sony bandwagon and waste our time with a rant? What’s the matter? You feel threatened or something? You sound like an xbot. Journalists are suppose to inject zero opinion in an article. And for that wired fails. Spell it with me.
F is for fake like wired’s journalist crew.
A is another “bash sony” article full of the usual lies and spins.
I is for the irritating way you ppl feel you need to protect microsoft from big bad sony.
L is for lame….thats it…just lame.

I was betting with Derrick Schommer when someone would accuse me of anti-PS3 bias.

My remark was at Wired. If you’re saying that you agree with wired’s article then yes my remark is now directed at you too. Can you answer me one question? It’s pretty hard for anyone to believe you’re not jumping to microsofts croch to protect them. Why is it that you get angry over Sony’s remarks and not Aaron Greenberg’s? If you can give me a good answer to this then i’ll take back my comment.
