LEGAL BRIEF: New York Wants Video Games to Carry Epilepsy Warning?

Assemblyman Steve Englebright (D-Setauket) of the New York Assembly has introduced a bill this legislative session that, if passed and signed into law, would require Retailers to put epilepsy warnings on video games. If the retailer failed to label their games properly they’d face a $50 fine.
Assemblymen Englebright, whose district is in Suffolk County in Long Island, has been trying to get this legislation passed since 2001, and his chances this year don’t seem anymore likely than they did the last eight.
At least he’s not trying to kill the medium like some politicians are.
