EGM Is Back!

After being killed this past January, 1Up.com is reporting that venerable gaming zine Electronic Gaming Monthly is returning, resurrected by the magazine’s founder Steve Harris, who’d left the pub in the late 90’s.
Harris announced in a press release:
“The re-launch of Electronic Gaming Monthly represents a welcome opportunity to continue delivering quality content to gaming enthusiasts,” said Harris. “I feel honored to once again be associated with this respected magazine. The talented writers and designers who built upon EGM’s original vision have left behind a publication that is uniquely positioned to be successful.”
The deal was done in conjunction with Ziff-Davis to “re-acquire certain assets, including trademarks and publishing rights”. The magazine will return in the second half of 2009, but for now, the official site will be located here and fans can follow the magazine’s official Twitter feed here.

Something to be optimistic about… I wonder if Mr. Harris can really pull this off? I hope so.
