Xbox Live Down for Maintenance [UPDATE]

As expected, Xbox Live is now down undergoing maintenance. In addition, the Xbox.com forums are in “read only” mode.
This is pure maintenance, so none of the Xbox Live features like Last.fm, Facebook and Twitter that were shown off at E3 will be implemented – those are coming in the Fall.
For now, sit tight for the next 24 hours or so – and don’t be surprised if the maintenance goes into overtime as it had once or twice in the past.

Im'ing with @thevowel in the Xbox LIVE command center. Says the maintenance is on schedule. What are you playing offline w/ the xtra time?
So hold tight. 20 hours have passed so far in the Live downtime.]

i just hada cable guy in today to switch to comcast so I dont know if xbox live is still down or not

well it seems now that xbox.com is off aswell. but im a bit confused over the time it went off as i live in the uk and i asume that xbox live is home 2 usa so that means its not going 2 b on in the uk untill around 09:00 in the uk as its 5 in the morning here looks like that is the case.. i wish they wud give a bit more info like how long is left of the down time stuff like that..

Xbox Live’s been up. I think you may have a problem with your ISP.

June 20th and I am still getting error messages (80004005). Anyone else having this problem?

Not here. That’s not a Live problem – that’s an A/V error (video, audio, etc).
There’s a discussion about this on Xbox.com. You should commiserate there.
