Someone feels cheated – specifically, Esther Leong of San Francisco who has filed the suit against the Japanese game making giant accusing the company of hidden costs associated with the MMORPG Final Fantasy XI. The suit alleges that Square-Enix participated in “unfair business practices, false advertising and unjust enrichment.”
How they managed to do this while clearly stating on their website that there was a $12.95 monthly fee, plus another dollar per month for additional content I don’t really know; guess that’s what we have a court system for.
I know this isn’t under the purview of the case, but if they can also determine why anyone would want to play Final Fantasy XI that’d be great too. I’ve never met a more tedious MMO experience and I’ve played EVE Online!
(Thanks, 1Up.)
