Battlefield 1943 Tentative July 9 Release Date

Joystiq is reporting that a notice from the June 2009 Electronic Arts newsletter shows a July 9 release date for Battlefield 1943: Pacific, the new budgetware version of the Battlefield series. (Don’t be scared by the “budgetware” sobriquet – 1943 may be a $15 title, but it’s also all Battlefield, and extremely fun, having tried it out at NY Comic Con 2009 a few months ago.

Developer DICE posted that the July 9 date was more or less tentative:

DICE producer Gordon Van Dyke said today on EA’s UK forums that “We are close to confirming our dates (Xbox 360 date & PS3 date), but still need to settle a few minor things.”

“Settling” things probably means passing Microsoft certification. Interestingly, the PC version is no longer listed, leading to speculation that it will be delayed.
