Japan Loves Dragon Quest IX

In its first two days of sales since its release on July 11, Square-Enix has moved 2,343,440 copies of the Dragon Quest IX. The latest iteration in this iconic franchise, the pace of sales has already outstripped the sales of DQVIII which in its first seven days sold 2.23 million copies.
Dragon Quest IX doesn’t yet have a release date for North America or Europe, and the game has never garnered the fanatical response which it receives in Japan; Famitsu awarded DQIX a rare perfect score.
