Shadows of Lylat: Everything Fans Want from Star Fox

Star Fox: Shadows of Lylat has been in development for six years. It looks good, and appears to be a return the Star Fox franchise back to the space shooter we all fell in love with back in 1993. Sadly, Shadows of Lylat isn’t being released on the Nintendo Wii, and it isn’t even be developed by Nintendo. Lylat is a PC game, the creation of a groups of fans who are trying “to revive the shoot’em up genre.” The game uses the FreeSpace engine and has sparked huge interest across the internet, despite only seeing one video with very little gameplay.
Sadly, we’ll probably never see this game, because they’ve decided to use Nintendo characters and a cease-and-desist letter is sure to be issued by the Japanese giant’s team of crack lawyers, even though the indie devs are charging nothing for it. Perhaps, though, the project will inspire Nintendo to make a new Star Fox set in space?
