Persona 5 Coming to PS3?

IGN is reporting that Persona 5 may have been confirmed for the PlayStation 3 from the most unusual of sources – a pachinko site.
Pachinko information website 7rush reported earlier in the month that Persona 5 was going to be announced for the PlayStation 3. The report was part of the site’s coverage of a press conference for a new Shin Megami Tensei themed pachinko machine, and the site suggested that the pachinko machine and Persona 5 would be promoted together throughout Japan in August as part of a “Megaten” boom (”Megaten” is the short name for all the Persona and related games).
The report, dated July 2, stated that Persona 5 was “scheduled to be announced” for the PS3. That, of course, hasn’t happened yet, so we’d suggest treating this as a rumor for now. Once we do hear something more solid (hopefully from a source other than a pachinko website) we’ll be sure and let you know!
