Popcap Ad Pokes Fun at Evony

Perhaps you’ve seen those annoying Evony ads recently on video game related websites? The ones that a few months ago started with pictures of buildings and knights but quickly moved to the over developed bosoms of women? If you don’t know what I’m talking about, just look at the screenshot to the right. If you want to see the devolution of the ads, I heartily recommend Jeff Atwood’s rundown.
I’ve read two or three articles now on these ads, and they’re lighting quick run to the lowest common denominator. Popcap seems to have noticed them as well and is using them as the inspiration for their new ads for their fantastically great Plants vs Zombies. Their new banner ad mimics the Evony ads, even having a top heavy zombie as the focal point. If you can’t beat them join them, I guess.
