The Lords of the Ring Online: Shadow of Angmar will be getting its second expansion, titled Siege of Mirkwood. Unlike the first expansion, Mines of Moria, Siege will be released digitally only, with no retail release.
The expansion will include:
- The conclusion to Mines of Moria, in which players will fight through vast armies of Orcs alongside the Elves of Lórien in a battle that will take them to Dol Guldur, the fortress of the Ringwraiths. This update includes Book 9 and the Epilogue.
- Increased level cap (65)
- Skirmishes, which are randomized instances where players can create and lead customizable soldiers into battle. Players can “answer the call” with the new “World Join” function that lets players and their fellowships band together to fight in various locations.
- New 3 and 6-player instances to infiltrate the jails, arenas and stables of Dol Guldur, the fortress of the Ringwraiths, and a difficult 12-player raid to face the Nazgûl Lord.
- Other major gameplay enhancements include improvements to the combat and Legendary Items forging systems. Players will be able to create and craft their own customized Second and Third Age Legendary Items from raw materials and grow their weapons’ power to level 60, as well as achieve new Legacies, new titles, and a fourth Runic slot that will make Legendary Items even more unique and powerful.
Siege of Mirkwood will be released this coming Fall, and gamers can check out the new content at the official site here. Let us know if you’re enjoying Lords of the Ring Online.
