As is traditon, following the monthly NPD sales data comes the full Top 20 Software List, as seen after the break.
As I mentioned previously, it’s no surprise that Uncharted 2: Among Thieves takes the top spot, but it is surprising that they only moved 500,000 units. Not what you’d expect to see from a title pegged as a system seller and savior of the PlayStation 3. The month before Halo 3: ODST moved 1.5 million on the Xbox 360 and while the numbers aren’t quite clear for November, it seems that Modern Warfare 2 has eclipsed even that number.
PS3 fans hailed Demon’s Souls as another system selling exclusive and it hit the chart at #11 with something between 150 and 156 thousand unit sales. Respectable for a very tough RPG from Atlus, but nothing that’s going to set the world on fire.
Tekken 6 did better on the PS3 than the 360, hitting the chart at #16 and somewhere north of 113,000 sales (we don’t know exactly, but the PS3 version of Borderlands is one spot below them and that’s what they sold.) The 360 version of Tekken 6 did not make the list.
Speaking of Borderlands: combined between the 360 and PS3 it moved 531,000 units, putting it at the same level as Uncharted 2, pretty sharp for a no-name B-rated game.
Overall, the 360 claimed 8 spots in the Top 20, the PS3 earned 6; the Wii and DS both non-events with 3 each.
