Modern Warfare 2: $550M In First 5 Days

The astounding sales numbers of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 continue to roll in, as Activision Blizzard is reporting that the game has brought in a whopping $550M in its first five days from combined PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 sales, shattering the record by Grand Theft Auto IV by $50M.

Three big releases might have been seriously affected by the juggernaut that is Modern Warfare 2: Dragon Age: Origins, Left 4 Dead 2 and Assassin’s Creed II. It’ll be interesting to see the November 2009 NPDs. Not since Fall 2007 has videogaming seen juggernauts of this calibre.
