The fine people in Brazil will be enjoying the launch of a brand-new console in their region: the PlayStation 2, with a mere price tag of $445, with fourteen launch titles including Gran Turismo 4 and God of War II, reports GameSpy.
PlayStation 2 will be sold in retail stores across Brazil for R $799 (USD $445). New release and catalog games for the PlayStation 2 will be sold for R $119 (USD $66) and R $99 (USD $55), respectively. Select accessories for PlayStation 2, such as the DualShock 2 Analog Controller and Memory Card, will also be available for purchase.
No, this isn’t news from the year 2000 – this is now. While the Xbox 360 enjoyed its 4th birthday yesterday, Sony has made a deal with their Brazilian office to launch the PS2 later this month.
Better late than never?
