Aliens Vs. Predator was resubmitted for rating, as a public forum for the R18+ rating is currently underway, and has been rated as MA15+, with no change to content. The game had been banned for “the violence in the game [which] causes a high playing impact due to its first-person, close-up perspective, conceptual nature and the level of explicit detail involved in the depictions.”
“It is with great pleasure that we announce the success of our appeal,” said Sega Australia’s Darren Macbeth. “We are particularly proud that the game will be released in its original entirety, with no content altered or removed whatsoever. This is a big win for Australian gamers. We applaud the Classification Review Board on making a decision that clearly considers the context of the game, and is in line with the modern expectations of reasonable Australians.”
It’s odd that they would decide to change the rating without one single alteration to the game. You can read this as the ratings board scared of being forced to adopt an R18+ rating – too late, suckers. Your desire to censor the Internet shows just how desperate you are to try to control what people see, think and do – it’s impossible to do and it’s unworkable.
Time to join the 21st century, Mr. Aktinson. We know it’s a huge leap from the 19th, but you wouldn’t have liked the 20th century any better, we’re sure except when that McCarthy fellow was around around the midway point. He was your kinda guy! (We’re sure you liked that German guy with the weird mustache burning all those books, too.)

I love that line…
