CES ’11: Avatar Kinect Video

The highlight of last night’s keynote had to be Avatar Kinect, which was utterly amazing. Live conferencing with Avatars that accurately mimic facial expressions. If that weren’t amazing enough, you can actually live stream the conference on Facebook, and also save and record them.

Can you say “Avatar podcasting”? It’s obvious that backgrounds and Avatar items will be available from Marketplace, because you know someone will want to do a video with a Halo background while wearing Spartan armor.

so, since we never got that “Microsoft ‘lying’ about Windows Phone 7 sales” article, i’m guessing there also won’t be a Game Stooge write-up about “Microsoft ‘lying’ about Kinect sales at CES” either?

    2. Jonah Falcon Says:

Microsoft surpassed 5M in Kinect sales to consumers. The 8M was all of the Kinects they had manufactured, and they didn’t have an exact number on the amount sold to consumers yet. I bet you still think Microsoft is faking Kinect videos. You can leave now.

    3. Sean Says:

      Yeah I never said that.

Try reading the internet. Even your boy Arthur Gies said they were shipping numbers.

      http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/114/1142767p1.html

Which, we all know according to Game Stooge, is “lying”.

    4. Sean Says:

Wow. Guess that answers my question.

Why have a comments section if you’re just going to delete it? Guess free speech only matters if you love Microsoft.

    5. Jonah Falcon Says:

WHAT are you TALKING about? (rolling eyes)

    6. Dave Says:

WHAT he is TALKING about is your lack of reporting when Microsoft does the same thing you continually bash Sony for. If this was Sony lying you couldn’t type fast enough to get the truth out, but Microsoft does it and not word ONE from you.

And then you try to defend them when challenged about it. It’s pathetic. Whatever journalistic integrity this site may have had goes down the toilet when you pull crap like this. Just report equally on both sides. Is that really so hard to do?

    7. Jonah Falcon Says:

Microsoft sold more Kinects than Sony said they shipped. I don’t care if Ballmer said 8M when 5+M were sold to customers. MS said they expected 5M. And I notice you avoid the subject of the video, which is Avatar Kinect. Feeling threatened, much? LOL

And WHAT is he talking about comments being deleted?

    8. Kiki Says:

wow, the sony fanbots are runnin scared lulz

      go home sony fanbots

    9. Sean Says:

wow. just….wow. you’re a real piece of work, Jonah. i’ll have to take screenshots of the comments section next time. hiding comments, then editing them and putting them back up (not mine, but yours, before you want to act like you don’t know i’m talking about again).

and, yeah, i’m real threatened by an avatar being able to raise it’s eyebrows. i’m sure if i dig around, i’ll find some Game Stooge article ripping Sony up for making Home, and you’re getting the exact same shit here.

dave hit the nail on the head. Sony reports shipping numbers, and you call it “lying”. Microsoft reports shipping numbers, and, not only do you fail to “report” it on your site, but, then you act like they’re actual sales numbers. it’s seriously unbelievable.

and if you want to just call me a fanboy as your only defense, that’s fine. i’ll gladly go head-to-head with you on Kinect Adventures, if you want.

    10. johnson Says:

      hehe Avatar Home.

Jonah’s been deleting and editing comments for a long time now. It usually happens when he is completely pwnd.

    11. ghost Says:

      1. Wow, you guys are the biggest friggin’ jerkwads on the face of the Earth. No wonder no one likes you.

      2. “Avatar Home”? At least Microsoft is making money, has a far better service, and didn’t have their console irretrievably cracked. Sony didn’t have the intelligence to make a good online service or even conceive of Kinect, then took out a patent trying to copy it using the Eye. Incredibly lame. Jealous much? LOL

Sounds like the size of your wingwangs are incredibly tiny to attach yourselves to a pathetic hardware manufacturer like this. Sony “Playing Catchup to Nintendo and Microsoft” #3.

    12. johnson Says:

lol ghost, you sound like a typical 14 year old MS fanboy.

PS Eye was out before Kinect, it was called Eyetoy. lol, do research before spouting your fanboy rubbish. lol.

    13. Sean Says:

Yeah cause the 360 wasn’t already cracked years ago.

But, hey, dick jokes. The crutch for anyone who lacks a valid argument.

    14. Jessica B. Says:

Here’s a dick joke for you – do you swallow? Because you seem to love trying to get it all in your throat from Sony.

    15. Jonah Falcon Says:

That’s it. Comment thread closed. There’s no discussion going on anymore.
