Trials HD Approaches 2M Sales

Call it “the little Excitebike that could”, as the Xbox Live Arcade hit Trials HD is about to surpass two million lifetime sales. The motorcycle stunt game hit a chord with gamers that has resonated not only into sales but user created content as well.
Tero Virtala, the CEO of the Finland-based developer RedLynx stated, “We couldn’t be more pleased with the success, and we’d like to thank all our fans for their continuous support and enthusiasm for our game,” while creator Antti Ilvessuo, who came up with the idea for Trials 11 years ago, was “naturally quite pleased”.
With new variations on the theme comes to WiiWare and iOS devices, Ilvessuo added:
“But the most important thing for us is to continue making excellent games that other gamers will like. Whatever the future holds remains to be seen, but currently we have six teams working on six games, so I can guarantee there are other great RedLynx games in the works.”
Trials HD, a remake of the popular Flash game Trials, landed on August 12, 2009 to critical praise, and had enjoyed healthy DLC sales as well.
