Apparently Sony has decided that a new SOCOM or M.A.G. game is no longer necessary as they have shuttered Seattle’s Zipper Interactive, the producer of those titles along with the launch PS Vita game Unit 13.
In a press release sent to Game Informer, Sony stated that:
“The closure is a result of a normal cycle of resource re-alignment within SCE WWS.”
I’m sure that’s really comforting to the 80 or so employees who were let go. Sony also claims that they will continue supporting SOCOM 4, M.A.G. and Unit 13 themselves.
